Replays showed the last pass was an absolute mile forward, though. Officials completely missed it. Libbok nails a kick from the car park. Huge boot from inside his own half. 22 minsMatthew SouthcombeGiles on his bikeOspreys scrum in their own 22 and it comes to this near side, where Michael Collins hits a booming kick down field. Keelan Giles gets after it but the ball just trundles into touch.
From there, Stormers fly-half Manie Libbok clipped over three points. The game came to life in the 30th minute when the Welsh side did get a decision from Mr Gnecchi at the set piece and Stephen Myler kicked it into the corner. It looked for all money like they would score when a handful of tight phases put them within inches of the line. Mystifyingly, the ball was then popped to an isolated Rhys Webb on the blindside. He fumbled the ball and the Stormers counter-attacked. An apparent forward pass was then missed by the officials as Keelan Giles made a scramble tackle, only to be then penalised for not rolling away. Libbok nailed a huge kick from inside his own half to double his side’s lead. The Ospreys hit back almost immediately thanks to a Stephen Myler penalty after another dominant scrum and then almost scored with the best move of the game. George North made good yards up the far touchline and Jac Morgan almost sent Keelan Giles over on the near side, but his pass under pressure was forward and the Stormers led by three points at the break.

Ospreys drew level 10 minutes into the second half after brilliant work from George North at the breakdown earned his side a penalty and Myler duly knocked it over. But the hosts then fell asleep for the first time and were punished. With the Ospreys defence slow getting into shape from a kick, Leolin Zas switched with Libbok to make a searing break and send scrum-half Paul de Wet over for a simple run-in to regain the lead. Myler and Libbok traded penalties heading into the final 10 minutes of the match as the rain became so heavy that it was difficult to see what was happening on the field.
Tell you what, if that had stayed in it would have been interesting. Clayton Blommetjies (remember him? ) was coming across to cover but it would have been tight. 20 minsMatthew SouthcombeError strewnAdam Beard is penalised for holding in the Stormers half. He got isolated there. Stormers kick to touch and from that lineout, 30 metres out, Jac Morgan does brilliantly to scrag the sniping Paul de Wet. Rhys Webb gets in over the ball to win a penalty and Stephen Myler bangs it over halfway. But from there, the Ospreys are done for a forward pass.

Then they flash back to the short side and Michael Collins goes through before feeding George North. Paul De Wet makes a brilliant cover tackle but it comes back to the near side through Nagy and Morgan, who release Keelan Giles. He's stopped by the cover defence just short. Ospreys keep it tight and get to within five metres. Jac Morgan tries to find Giles again with the line at his mercy but his pass under pressure is just forward. Brilliant move from the Ospreys but it ends in a scrum to the visitors. 36 minsMatthew SouthcombePenalty Ospreys! 3-6Angelo Davids fumbles a pretty simple pass, with Rhys Webb applying a little bit of pressure.
Finally, on the fourth one, they get a penalty. Myler goes to the corner. Ospreys keep it tight, maul it and pick and go. They get down to within an inch or two of the line but for some bizarre reason they pop it wide to Rhys Webb on the touchline. He's absolutely smothered and loses the ball, the Stormers counter attack towards halfway. Giles makes the tackle and is then penalised for not rolling away.
